Inline hockey – what do you need to play during the summer season?

Street hockey is usually played on asphalt, concrete, or special indoor tiles such as Stilmat or Joker, and inline skates are used instead of ice skates. In addition, there are many products and accessories specifically designed for this activity. Here are our top recommendations for a complete inline hockey equipment set!

Inline hockey – what do you need to play during the summer season?

Street hockey, also known as inline hockey, is not only incredible fun – it’s also a great opportunity for hockey players to keep training even when the ice season is over. Originating in North America, this sport has evolved from an unorganized, spontaneous activity into one with its own tournaments and championships. Along with this evolution, the equipment has also improved, making the game faster and much closer to traditional ice hockey.

At SklepHokejowy.PL, you’ll find a wide range of products and accessories – both for those looking for premium gear and for those who prefer more basic, budget-friendly equipment.

Inline hockey skates

In our offer, you’ll find models suitable for everyone – from beginners to elite players, and from children to adults. We offer a wide selection of inline hockey skates from renowned brands such as Bauer, Mission, CCM, and Graf.

Street hockey sticks

When it comes to street hockey sticks, a regular ice hockey stick works perfectly well. We offer sticks for kids, juniors, intermediate players, and seniors. Many players choose a separate, simpler, and more affordable stick for roller hockey, as the hard and sometimes uneven surface wears down the blade more quickly than ice. This way, you can preserve your best stick for the official ice hockey season.

Ball or puck in street hockey

The answer is simple – you can choose either option, so why not both? One thing is certain: a ball rolls more smoothly than a puck. Bauer or Base street hockey balls are designed to remain visible even in low light, making evening play much easier.

On the other hand, a street hockey puck or tile puck is a better choice if your goal is to improve stickhandling technique before the ice hockey season.

Use standard protective hockey equipment

Although street hockey is less physical than ice hockey and eliminates the risk associated with skate blades, proper protection is still essential. A helmet is mandatory, and you should also wear gloves, elbow pads, and shin guards. These are the same as in ice hockey, so there’s no need to buy new ones if you already own them.

Many players, however, prefer wearing a girdle instead of full hockey pants. It provides excellent protection for the hips, thighs, and tailbone while being lighter and more flexible than traditional ice hockey pants.

Street hockey for goalies

As a goaltender, you can use the same protective equipment as in ice hockey. However, if you play on asphalt, be aware that leg pads, catching gloves, and blockers wear out much faster than on ice.

For this reason, it’s often a good idea to use older gear for street hockey and save your best equipment for the ice season. Alternatively, you may consider investing in a simpler and more affordable goalie set designed specifically for street hockey.
